A 35-year-old man in Ghaziabad was arrested on Sunday for the death of a 70-year-old woman. The incident occurred during a confrontation with the woman's son in Madhuban Bapudham. According to the police, the woman, Ramvati Devi, tried to protect her son, Bijendra Kumar, from the accused, Majid, who is a resident of the same area. Majid allegedly pushed Ramvati during the altercation, causing her to fall and sustain fatal injuries. Abhishek Srivastava, the ACP of Kavi Nagar, stated that the incident took place late at night when Majid, who was reportedly intoxicated, was sitting outside the Kumar residence. Upon questioning by Bijendra, an argument ensued, leading to the tragic outcome. Ramvati was immediately taken to the hospital but was declared dead by the doctors. The body was sent for a post-mortem examination, and an FIR has been filed at the local police station. The accused appeared in court and has been remanded to judicial custody.
